Womens Cricket at GHS on the Up!
Cricket has been played at our ground at Golden Hill in North-West Bristol since 1902 and in 2011, we decided it was time for the girls and women to get involved and so 2 new teams were formed!
After a fantastic first season in the summer of 2011, we're gearing up to start the 2012 summer season and this year, we have 2 girls teams (under 13's and under 15's) as well as our previous fantastic women’s team!
All of our winter nets will be held at Orchard school (used to be Monks Park school) on a Friday starting from the 3rd Feb.
The girls nets will be 7-8pm and the women's team 8-9pm (with the possibility of a pub visit after if wanted.) In 2011, 3 of our women members joined some of the other YMCA coaches in passing their first level cricket coaching course, so parents and players alike can be sure they will be in safe (CRB checked) hands!
We also have a few 2012 indoor games planned (location tbc)-
- Old Bristolians Westbury- Thursday 9th Febuary 7pm
- Weston Super Mare- Thursday 15th March 8pm
The 2012 summer match fixtures are-
- Hawkesbury AWAY Sunday 13th May time tbc
- Frenchay HOME Wednesday 30th May 6pm start
- Painswick HOME Friday 15th June 6.30pm start
- Charlton Kings HOME Wednesday 20th June 6.30pm
- Frocester AWAY Friday 6th July 6.30pm start

You don't need to be worried if you've never played before or if you don't even know HOW to play, we've all started from the beginning, and are all at different stages! It's all about having some fun, getting a bit of exercise and making new friends!
