THE HORFIELD TROPHY – BEST YOUNG CRICKETER AWARD

Cyrus Shafi – The young left arm allrounder scored a tremendous 362 runs for 1sts and 2nds including 3 fifties for the 2nds. He took an impressive 22 league wickets. However, his outstanding, match-winning performance in the cup final with 6 for 14 and an unbeaten top score of 41* was undoubtedly the highlight of a great season. Cyrus also showed his clubman credentials by assisting with the Saturday morning youth coaching.

BEST NEWCOMER OF THE SEASON AWARD  

Jack Porter – The popular and sociable newcomer has made a positive impact on and off the field. His 185 runs came mainly in the 1st team with best of 46*. His enthusiastic style hinted at a long and fruitful future at GHS.

The Ron Valentine Performance of the Year Award

Dan Broom – A strong contender for this year’s award, thanks to 12 year old allrounder becoming the clubs’ youngest ever centurion. The Somerset county player scored a match winning 114 v Pucklechurch and in doing so made the highest ever 5th team score for No4 batsman.
