News: Lowis is hat-trick hero for YM (02/07/08)

Stapleton Under 15s v YMCA Under 15s 'A'

Well done to the whole team for another good display albeit against an inexperienced Stapleton side.

Rod Lowis
Lowis - took four wickets in five balls

YM posted a record score of 198-3, with George Bacon retiring on 63*, Matt Tavare 39, James Norris 37* and Joe Wenham 33 the major contributors. In reply Stapleton were bowled out for 68, pick of the bowlers was Rhodri Lowis with amazing figures of 2.4-0-7-5 including a hat trick as well as 4 wkts in 5 balls. All 5 victims were bowled. The 3 other bowlers all took wickets starting with the opening spin attack of Mauro Scrafton 1-27 and Calum Murphy 1-28 supported by Junaid Shah 2-3.

We also held all our catches which was very pleasing. My only regret was not being able to give Andy Hyde and Ammar a bowl as Stapleton were all out in 11 overs, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

The Under 15s 'A' team play their final group match against Twyford House next Thursday and are still in with a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.
