News: Hitch shows his class (08/06/08)
Frampton Cotterell 1st XI v YMCA 1st XI
Off spinner, Hitesh Shah, had an excellent return to the 1st XI on Saturday, finishing with match winning figures of 4/51 off his 15 overs. Earlier the team posted an impressive total of 226/8 with Dave Spink (42) the top scorer. Thanks to the performance of Shah and the rest of 1st XI's bowling attack this total proved too much for Frampton Cotterell to chase down, as YMCA won by 37 runs.

| Norris - scored 44 in less than 10 overs |
YMCA 2nd XI v Coalpit Heath 2nd XI
Like the 1st XI, Keith Milsom's side amassed a total of over 200 without any player scoring a 50. The top scorer was James Norris (44) who didn't arrive at the crease until the 35th over but produced some vital late innings runs to take YM to a total of 205/7. In reply, Coalpit Heath came close to reaching the target but Phil Dowle (3/51) and Peter Kirk (4/38) bowled well 'at the death' to secure a 10 run victory for YMCA.
Patchway 2nd XI v YMCA 3rd XI
The Third Eleven made it four wins in a row as they put up an excellent performance to beat Patchway's Second Team. In another high scoring match, Rich Wilson's side posted a total of 210 and then went on to bowl Patchway out for 195. Chris Tebb continued to show what a great acquisition he has been to the club, scoring 51 and taking 3/17. Gerry Davis (35) and Charlie Collard (32*) also continued their consistency with the bat.

YMCA 4th XI v Chipping Sodbury 4th XI
The Fourth Eleven were the convincing winners against Chipping Sodbury who, after being inserted to bat, were dismissed for just 148. Wayne Lush (2/40) picked up the first two wickets before Chris Machin (3/37) and Shair Mohammed (2/14) worked well in tandem to wrap up the tail. Richard Hughes (39), Tom Chard (39*) and Aqib Ashraf (34) all produced good performances with the bat to make light work of the task of chasing down the runs.
YMCA 5th XI v Shirehampton 3rd XI
YM's only defeat of the day came in the 5th XI's tough assignment against Shirehampton's 3rd Team, in a match played at Rose Hill School. The team lost by 69 runs, however there were a few notable performances including Nigel Sara's 56 and Leon Gregor's excellent all round contribution taking 4/25 and scoring 18 not out with the bat. Well done to Ashley for organising the first 5th XI match of the season.
