| Weetch - delight at seeing his side record fifth straight win |
Golden Hill Sports continued their recent good run of form with a 3-1 victory away at bottom club Redcliffe Utd, recording their 5th win in a row and 10th of the season.
Golden Hill handed a debut to the lively Ransford Davies-King pairing him up front with chairman Shaun Parker, also making his first start of the season. As with last week's match, the wind played its part and with skipper Simon Weetch winning the toss and opting to play with the wind the game got underway. Golden Hill made the brighter start and with the home team struggling to retain possession of the ball it wasn't long before the first chance of the match came along. Ransford Davies-King found plenty of space on the right and saw his left footed shot sail just wide. Shortly after, confusion between the home defence and goalkeeper resulted in a scramble in the 18 yard box and Shaun Parker was gifted the chance to put GHS FC ahead but pulled his shot wide with the empty net beckoning.
A rare attack for the home side looked to have been dealt by the Golden Hill defence until a soft penalty was awarded against Ben Pearce for an innocuous looking tackle, which the Redcliffe skipper placed to the keepers left to put the home side ahead. Straight from the restart GHS FC created a opportunity to level the match only for the Redcliffe keeper to save the ball at the expense of a corner which nearly levelled the match following another goalmouth scramble. With the continued pressure, GHS were awarded their fair share of corners, each defended unconvincingly by the home team. Eventually GHS got the bit of luck needed and Lee White's corner was headed goal ward by the unfortunate Redcliffe defender to level the match.
Just before half time, another Lee White corner was whipped in from the right, this time sailing directly into the net with the keeper struggling in the windy conditions.
The second half brought more of the same and much to the home sides disbelief the wind died off. It was however the home side that created the first chance of the half, the shot skimming the top of the crossbar.

| Utrera - worked well alongside newcomer Marcus Vowles |
With Manuel Utrera and Marcus Vowles in defence looking comfortable and containing any Redcliffe threats with relative ease, the match was put out of reach of the home side midway through the half. Captain Simon Weetch picked up the ball from Shaun Parker in the centre circle and his direct run appeared to cause confusion within the home defence and he was eventually brought down on the edge of the area. Ransford Davies-King's free kick around the wall was spilled by the keeper and Simon Weetch was on hand to prod home the rebound.
A fourth goal nearly came. The defender's back pass went wide of the outrushing keeper and with Nathen Matthews and Matt Thomas both bearing down on the loose ball rolling along the goal line, in close company with a couple of defenders, plus the retreating goalkeeper, the resulting collision somehow failed to bundle the ball into the net but amazingly to safety.
Team: Wilton, Heath, Utrera, Vowles Pearce, Gallimore, Weetch, White, Piper, Parker, Davies-King. Subs: Matthews, Thomas, Hamblin.
