News: Soccer supremo maps out future (November 2007)

Following his reappointment to the key post of Director of Football, Richie Wilson, has wasted no time in setting the agenda by announcing his decision call a development meeting of the club's soccer-stakeholders at some stage in the near future....

Wilson - Soccer Supremo with a mission

Wilson's 'footballing summit' is designed to map out the future success of football at the ground and sow the seeds for a more unified and cohesive structure in 2008 and beyond.

With a 15 year career in qualified sports coaching at youth level and a close association with the current senior side, the 'soon to be married' Wilson is the ideal candidate to meet the challenges ahead and produce a positive outcome from the critical meeting . His role as Director of Football is one of eight directorships created as part of the newly formed Golden Hill Sports Ltd's management structure.

It is predicted that Wilson's first task will be to seek the particiaption of the three main interested parties:

Last season's Under 14s Team
Last season's highly successful Under 14s squad

..the rapidly expanding Golden Hill Sports FC managed by Phil Wilton,

..the YMCA youth set up which has flourished under the guidance of Grant Stiddard

..and the impressive Henleaze Sonics junior football club who have growing ties with Golden Hill.

The senior side's chairman Shaun Parker welcomed the move: "My fellow GHSFC committee members and I are excited about this development. With the GHS management structure now in place it is an ideal opportunity for the various groups to work together and secure a sustained period of stability success for the football section. I shall be pressing for a common identity amongst the numerous teams so that we can create a recognisable route from the U11s to the senior first team."

A date for the meeting will be announced shortly.
