| Quaife - becomes 27th member |
Highly talented all-round cricketer, Matt Quaife stated his intention to become a major force at the YMCA last week when he scored the club's first ever youth team century....
The 14 year old fast bowler has already made a huge impact at senior level and has become a key member of Phil Dowle's title chasing second eleven. But it is as captain of the Under 15s level that he has made his most telling contributions and, thanks to a match-winning hundred - made in a remarkable 13 over spell - he performances will long be remembered by his team-mates and everyone connected with Golden Hill.
The popular clubman, who has been an active member of the club's fundraising efforts in recent weeks, joins an elite group of cricketers who have scored a century for the club and, in doing so, become a member of the exclusive Centurions Club. Only seven of the other 28 Centurions are still playing cricket for the YMCA putting Quaife's achievement as its youngest member into perspective.
