About Us

Golden Hill Sports is a charity that incorporates the YMCA Cricket Club, Golden Hill Football Club and Golden Hill Sonics football.

The club has been based at its home ground at Golden Hill in North-West Bristol since 1902, where its has hosted many famous cricketers including Wally Hammond. The cricket club is now one of Bristol’s biggest club sides, operating five sides in the Bristol & District League on Saturdays between April and September and a midweek eleven which competes in the Bristol Construction League during summer evenings.

The cricket club’s success can be partly attributed to an excellent youth set-up that attracts talented junior cricketers from across the district to represent the ‘YM’ in the regional youth league from Under 11s to Under 17s level. Kwik Cricket sessions have also been introduced for those aged nine and under.

Outside of the summer months football takes centre stage at the club, with Golden Hill Football Club running two senior teams that plays matches on Saturday afternoons. In addition, Golden Hill Sonics provide Saturday morning football sessions for those who are still in primary school.
